What does Southern Italy has to do with me? Well, simply because I was born there, but I happily reside in UK, a country I love and for which I can't thank enough for the opportunities it has given me.
I was born in a small rural town where the main production was wheat but also olives and grapes. I grew up in a poor but honest family of independent farmers, where both my parents worked their small pieces of lands and where at home we didn't have running water and neither TV until I reached the age of 15. Despite the good education received from my parents (I am not talking about University here, which I have never attended and neither we could have ever afforded) I grew up with one dream:
"To go away from there".
After attending a state owned college and got my diploma, by the age of 23 I had already worked in five different countries and USA.
Due to my desire to be independent and hungry for getting in business I then jumped into so many sales activities that it will take me a book to describe them all. Probably I will publish one someday...
Well, let's say that I am a self-made entrepreneur who went from knocking on doors of small businesses and private consumers to doing business with international companies worldwide. So, when I say I have done it all, I mean "All". Any modality of selling (and buying), and agency agreements that you can think of. A long and stressful business life explained in just one paragraph. Yes, because I prefer not to think about my past anymore as I much more prefer the present and the future of what I am doing.
I have experienced the success and the sufference of losing my share of a once thriving commercial company that I started from zero and grew to a decent level. I am not talking here about any kind of bankruptcy which I have luckily never experienced in my life, but other reasons, including a big theft that left my company breathless and no money from any insurance that forced me to look at something else, more in tune with the modern time and less risky.
Basically I have experienced for over 20 years all the hassle of dealing with phisical goods, trading from Italy and internationally, and the heavy weight that internet and the change in consumer behaviour has put with the years on brick and mortar businesses, especially in the retail sector. Just between 2012 and 2016 more than 700 entrepreneurs in Italy have killed themselves for financial reasons! It's a real tragedy that not many talk about, starting from the unlucky families that feel the shame of what happened to them.
Anyway, while experiencing the above with my ex-beloved business, because I had good knowledge of computer and internet, I found out something that was attracting my attention more and more which was called "Internet Marketing". These two words changed my life ever since, and I started it all over again at age 50+ with one option only: to succeed.
I started debt free but also with nearly zero in my bank account.
I took the lucky decision to go into internet marketing full time and at my own risk. I didn't know whether this was going to be another failed dream or illusion of mine but I did believe in myself, in internet, and in the companies I decided to promote as an affiliate. Thereafter, in less than one year I finally started awaking up again with a smile on my face, a sensation that I had nearly forgotten, knowing that I was finally free from the rat race or even worse, from the danger (at my age...) of going to work for someone
That's me and my car, back in 2008. Now I am older...:-)
